General Online Training Instructions
Each Module represents one day of intensive training during our live and in person certifications. Although, you may take more days to go through each Module, as your schedule allows. Some students go through the trainings in person 2 or 3 times, because I am know to pack in A LOT of information and details.
Some of the videos are lecture format, and some of them are interactive format, where you will be asked to move along with what I’m teaching. AND, you will also be asked to immediately practice the techniques I am sharing in these interactive format videos. Putting it into practical use right away is the best way for you to understand all I am teaching, and to see if you are truly absorbing it. You will find it very helpful to have your book, Ashtanga Yoga Made Simple, along side of you, as well as a notebook. I suggest you take notes, write down questions that come up. Then, play through the videos multiple times to help best fill in any holes, before you continue to the next module. This will help you squeeze the most nectar out of everything that I am sharing.
Practicing this system daily, or as close to daily as you can, will be helpful as you go through these training modules. This does NOT mean it has to be a full, long practice. It may be enough to practice only what you have currently learned from the current and previous day. And then, after each module you will have learned more, that you can then begin to incorporate into your daily practice. Then, Slowly, slowly… you will find yourself growing your practice, and teaching experience, at a pace you can truly absorb it… in Body, Breath, and Mind.
“Repetition is the Mother of Perfection!” This applies to when you are doing the practice and using the teaching exercises in each video. So, every time you see the group break off to experiment with what was just learned…either share the teachings with a friend, OR, set up your camera in front of you and record yourself. Imagine you are talking, explaining, showing, teaching someone in front of you. This way you can critique yourself in positions, words, and showing skills.
